Beowulf.

Never in a million years would I consider having a physical copy of this book. Yet fate decided otherwise. I had a bit  of a down time, and when I'm sad, there's only one place that can cheer me up - a good bookstore and spending money there. I can't say a book store I went to that day was the best I've been to, but I managed to buy a book there. And the book was a copy of Beowulf. I have read about it in my English Literature textbook, and I didn't have any strong opinions on it. So at first, after buying it, I kind of regretted my impulse, but after a few days I got really excited to read it. And it was a very satisfying and enjoyable read, let me say. I've never thought I would enjoy it as much as I did!

For those who are not familiar, Beowulf is an Old English epic poem, that is commonly known as one of the most important works of Old English. Who's the author of this work is, obviously, unknown. It was an anonymous Anglo-Saxon poet.

The story is set in Scandinavia and is basically about a super strong hero called Beowulf, who helps a king of the Danes and his people to get rid of a monster Grendel, who's been attacking the kingdom. After Beowulf finishes up Grendel, there is his poor grieving mum, who's coming after the hero, but he finishes her too. And obviously, the kingdom lives happily ever after and so does Beowulf. We then are transferred years forward, and we see Beowulf as an old man, ruling his own kingdom. Beowulf has to slay a dragon now, and he does, but sadly he gets injured himself and soon passes away. He's buried and grieved by his people and, it is basically the end of the book. It's very fast to read and very entertaining as well. To be honest, I really liked it, and I think I will definitely re-read it some time later! I would recommend it to people, who are interested in literature, and tales about heroes and dragons. It kind of reminded me of The Hobbit at some point or something like that. Anyway, I must say it was probably one of the most enjoyable 'school' reads I've had in my whole life!

Have an idea of starting a 'series' of posts called 'Random Playlist'. I guess the concept is very simple, so I'm just gonna say a tiny little bit of something. ;) 

I listen to a lot of music and find lots of new songs pretty much every day. I also have a passion for arranging music into little playlists. Therefore, I thought of doing it here. Just a nice way of sharing good music with someone out there. Hope it's gonna be fun and useful!

'Inferno' by Dan Brown.

I'd like to thank Dan Brown for all the adventures involving mystery, smart people and pieces of art, that I've been through so far. Seriously, how great are books when there's all that?! I love Dan Brown's writing. It's easy going, entertaining, funny. It grips you so tight you can't do anything else in your life, except reading those freaking books!

I've been craving to read Inferno for a few months, and I was planning on buying it when my mother's co-worker gave it to me and said I didn't even have to give it back if I wanted to keep it! HOW COOL?! Just when I started reading it, I caught a cold or something, and I then had a terrible fever. So I obviously had to lie down. Which I did. And what can you do when you have to lie down because you feel so crappy you can't really move? You read. And I dived into Inferno and had been reading it through all my illness period. Thanks to the fever I felt light headed and a bit out of this world, so the reading experience I had with this book was even better than I expected (not that I'm happy about a fever or anything, but looking back I felt pretty good mentally). Not to say that whenever I pick up this book now, I feel that warmth and calmness I felt back when I was reading it lying in my bed.

Inferno is another book about Robert Langdon, and let me just say this character is AMAZING. I don't even know why, but I love him so very much! So the story follows Robert in yet another adventure involving a piece of art (which is 'Divine Comedy' by Dante Alighieri). The craziest thing about this adventure though is that Langdon wakes up in Italy, and he doesn't remember a thing that happened to him in a past few days. His life is suddenly being threatened by a woman he's never met before, and saving his ass here is Sienna Brooks, who becomes his companion throughout the book. Running from every armed person possible, solving clues and trying to find out why he is being hunted by so many people, Robert Langdon learns that there's a dangerous virus, threatening to decrease the population of the Earth hidden somewhere in Istanbul. And of course, he is in the middle of all that jazz, needing to find the virus and save the World.

I'm a sucker for all this travelling and solving clues thing, so I obviously love every Dan Brown's book.

I have only one warning about this one, though: if you have an anxiety disorder, it can be very hard not to panic at some point throughout the reading process. Because this whole thing about the Earth being overpopulated and the resources diminishing and all that...it can be pretty terrifying if you think about it. So...yeah. I freaked out a bit.

All in all, the book is amazing, as every other Brown's book. Maybe even better than a couple of his other ones. Although, nothing can ever beat The Da Vinci Code for me ;)

Also, I'd like to say (no spoilers) that despite the THING about Sienna Brook she still is a very good and likable character. I really liked her and their chemistry with Professor Langdon ;)

Happy to announce for those who don't know, that the movie will be coming out some time in 2016. Tom Hanks as Robert Langdon as usual, obviously. And charming Sienna Miller will be played by one of my favourite actresses - Felicity Jones! No need to say, how excited I am!!

'R.I.P. 2 My Youth' by The Neighbourhood.

I. AM. SO. EXCITED. ABOUT. THEIR. NEW. MUSIC!!

I've loved them for so long now I can't remember what my life was before them. They're something different indeed. And I, just like Jesse Rutherford, keep asking Universe one simple question. Why don't they get enough credit for their music?! I mean, yes, they're not exactly role models parents want for their children or anything...But their music is GOOD. Their lyrics are AMAZING. They're truthful, genuine, and even poetic! There are a lot of people in the industry who don't have any sense in their songs or have ridiculously stupid lyrics. Yet they are still considered to be musicians and even win awards. This fact pisses me off. I know every fan will say this about their idol, and I'm not trying to offend other fandoms. Just saying...In my opinion, The Neighborhood are very underestimated. They deserve much more credit for everything they do music-wise. I know they have a great fan base and all in all doing good...But still, the fact that they don't get to be as big as other much less talented people upsets me. On the other hand, we all can just keep them to ourselves and enjoy them before they blow up (and I'm sure they will at some point) into huge music stars and become just like anybody else. I guess their non-hugeness is a good thing in some way as well...

ANYWAY. I loved this song and the music video. Jesse looks extremely attractive, may I say... The song itself is probably one of my favorite releases this year. It speaks to me. Every word is so important and appealing...ugh. The meaning of it is AWESOME and the lyrics are AWESOME. And as you can see I pretty much adore everything about this song and the band...

I've really missed them, even though their EP was released not that long ago. I'm too excited, I'm waiting for the album, and I'm pretty sure it won't disappoint me at all. I know them. I love them. And I believe in them. YOU GO, BOYS!

P.S. I actually forgot but I loved the lyric video as well. It's SO....I don't have words for it. It's amazing. See yourself...;)xx

'I Am' by Leona Lewis.

2015 keeps surprising me almost every day. And today I'm gonna be talking of the surprise that is the new Leona Lewis album called 'I Am'. I've loved Leona Lewis for what seems like forever. A lot of her songs speak to me. Although I could never fully relate to them. I suppose it was because I started listening to them much later then the time of their actual release or something like that...I don't know. So now that her new songs started to come out one after another, I was pleasantly surprised by how truthful and just-in-time they are to me. I fell in love with every song I heard before the actual album release, and, I suppose sadly, I thought to myself 'surely the album can't be all this good!' I don't even know why did I think that, you know? I've never had even one song by Leona that I thought was rubbish. And I, obviously, was wrong thinking that way. When the album came out, and I sat to listen to it, I was BLOWN AWAY by how each and every song made me shiver. Another one of those albums that are 'LITERALLY ABOUT ME'. I have never thought she had so much to say. So much pain, I guess, inside of her. I'm not in her fandom, therefore I don't really know what's been going on in her life. I've always thought she was one of those people who's 'normal', if I may say this, and who doesn't go through a drama of any sorts. So needless to say how shocked I was to hear, for instance, 'You Knew Me When' or 'The Best and The Worst'.

This album symbolizes some kind of revival, I think. It's about falling hard and then coming back on track again, feeling stronger, happier and healthier than ever. I think whoever was through a tough situation (or is in it right now even) needs to listen to this record. I feel like it's very powerful and intense in some way. It's very truthful and relatable, as well. And I adore records like this. Also, there's no reason to say this, but I will, her voice is GORGEOUS, just like on any other of her records.

Whatever the reason for this album is, I really hope Leona is okay. Cause, let's be honest,  she really should be. She's a wonderful, talented human being, and I can't say enough 'thank yous' for this album!

'What Do You Mean' Justin Bieber Is Back?!

' Life is a journey. Sometimes a battle. Always the unexpected. Sometimes you focus on the destination and forget to focus on that journey. When you fall it allows you to get up stronger. It allows you not to lean on your own understanding, give in to fate… Believe in something bigger than yourself and find your purpose.'

He's back. And I haven't stopped loving him for a second. Our relationship is way too long and way too important to me to just give up on it. Yes, he's done some incredibly stupid things, but none of us is perfect now, are we? Here's the beginning of a new era for him and for us. And we are not going anywhere. We all are here. Till the end.

I will probably always justify him in any situation. I will always see the best in him, or search for the best anyway. I can't stop seeing the light he has inside. Even behind all the dirt he's been through. He's never lost his light. He was sometimes hiding it, pretending it's not there, because he was in a lot of pain, as I can assume. But don't we all sometimes hide our light just because of the fear of being hurt?

What Do You Mean?

I instantly loved the song. Then I fell in love with the lyric video. And the music video turned out to be pretty sick as well! The last time I felt this attracted to JB was probably when I was 16 (I'm now 20, ugh..). I've never thought he would make me feel this way again. Oh, but boy he did!

I also can't not talk about the VMA performance. It was AMAZING. I loved every second of it, and even though he missed some notes, it wasn't spoiled at all. I mean, we all are human, we all understand that with choreography like that it was a miracle he could sing anything at all. The emotional bit in the end got me so bad. That was such a great genuine moment. That was the real Justin right there, and the fact that the audience stood up and cheered for him is another proof that lots of people started to see the light where a few days ago they only saw the darkness.

I'm immensely proud of Justin. I truly believe this is the new beginning for him, and I hope he feels much better now. I've been on this road for way too long to not to get emotional about this kid. We basically grew up together, and he's been there for me a lot of the sad days of mine. This feeling of proudness and these good words is one tiny little thing I can let out into the Universe to show how grateful I am and how much I love him. I think every Belieber understands me on this.

Of course I have a lot of other feelings and thoughts, but if I keep talking, I will probably never end this post. So with no further rambrling... Tell me what did you think of the new single? Introduction That Was Way Too Long...

Sometimes we all feel alone. Sometimes, when we feel alone, we feel the need to talk to someone and to share our experiences and emotions with them. And sometimes there's no one there who would want to listen to us, who would want to feel what we feel. That's when we turn to blogging, I guess. That's why I did anyway. I'd like to think that if I write something I really wanna say, and if I post it online, it will eventually find its way to people who feel the same way (or who feel something completely opposite, in which case I'm always ready for a constructive argument ;)). I'd like to think I could be a good listener if you have something to say and don't have anyone to say it to. Or that I, also, can find someone who would like to listen to me.

On this page, where nobody knows me, I never want to be anyone but me. I never want to be someone I'm not. I want to set my mind straight and talk about things I wanna talk about without the fear of being judged or misjudged. Without the fear of being misunderstood or not understood at all. Without the pressure of being someone else. Without wearing any masks.

And I really hope someone out there is willing to see me as I really am, as well as willing to show themselves as they really are.
