5 Albums That Have Surprised Me Recently.

'Breathe In. Breathe Out.' by Hilary Duff.

Hilary Duff is one of the few people that I can really say 'thank you for my childhood' to. And I can`t say that I was a massive fan of hers in my younger years. In fact, I don`t think I have ever seen a one full episode of 'Lizzie McGuire'... But 'Lizzie McGuire Movie' OH YES. I was obsessed with it for sometime, and I guess it was that movie that showed me that Hilary has a really nice voice..while sinning, I mean. Then there were 'A Cinderella Story', 'Raise Your Voice', 'The Perfect Men' and 'Greta'. Those are the movies that I will always love, no matter how old I am. I remember being obsessed with her music for some time as well. But it wasn`t for long. When I first heard the news about her coming back and making an album, to be honest, I wasn`t excited at all. There were times I even thought it wasn`t such a good idea. But it all changed completely after I heard the actual album. I loved it so much I surprised myself! I was excited about every song, and I thought each and every of them is brilliant in its own way. When I heard the live version of 'Tattoo' I fell back in love with Hilary and her sweet voice. And with the song as well (which was written with Ed Sheeran btw, and this is just WOOOWWW!). In fact, that live version made me wanna listen to the whole album, and I wasn`t disappointed at all. I`m really really excited about this album and that Hilary is back on track! Now I understand how much I missed her. You go, girl! x
Here`s the live version of 'Tattoo' (definitely my favourite song of the album, despite the fact that I loved each one a lot. And ohgod her guitarist is sooo attractive...).

'Blurryface' by Twenty One Pilots.

I first found out about Twenty One Pilots from Harry Styles, who loves to visit tons of concerts of really REALLY good musicians. And of course being a Harry girl I decided to listen to the band. And I loved it SO MUCH I can`t even describe. The first song I listened to was 'House Of Gold' which now reminds me of The Vamps because of the voice (that`s weird..) and then I completely fell in love with their song called 'Before You Start Your Day'. All the songs I listened to were very soft, subtle and easy going, as for me, so I thought: 'I really enjoy their music, but there`s nothing new, really, another boyband with nice songs blah blah blah'. Well not anymore. Starting with 'Farily Local' and 'Stressed Out' they`ve matured in my eyes in a split second. The sound of those two songs, as well as of the whole album, is SO GOOD. There`s something very badass about them that I`m sure a lot of people will enjoy. The lyrics are amazing as well, songs are badass AND relatable. What else can we ask for? I fell in love with their album, and it totally changed my first impression of the boys. I recommend it to anyone who likes a bit of rock, a bit of dub-step, a bit of bass, and rap, and a badass, grrrreat voice. (I don`t think I said 'badass' enough..)

'Communion' by Years&Years.

Olly Alexander made me fall in love with him a little bit after I saw him in season 7 of Skins. It wasn`t so much his attractiveness or anything, but there was (and is) something weirdly amazing and mysterious about him, that I can`t figure out, that just brings me back to him over and over again. Before seven or so months ago I didn`t even know he could sing and had a band. I guess the end of 2014 and 2015 have been a real success for these guys. This I`m very happy about! And I hope their success will keep rising (is this the right word for success?..). Even after I found out about their music I wasn`t excited about listening to them, don`t know why exactly. That was until I heard their song 'King' which instantly won my heart over. Then there was 'Shine'. The song is amazing itself, and I also loved the music video, which was apparently shot in my country (saywhat?!). Despite the fact that everywhere there were people who were saying how amazing and unique Olly`s voice was I couldn`t bring myself to really hear it, if you know what I mean...I only REALLY heard and started to appreciate his voice when I heard the whole album, I guess. It was am amazing experience, and now I completely understand why Years&Years are everywhere nowadays. They have to be everywhere cause they`re incredible! (They`re also charming as hell, all of them. I guess my attraction to them can be explained not only by their talent but also my love for Britain and British citizens...).

'Human' by Three Days Grace.

Three Days Grace are not something new in my life. I`ve been in love with some of their songs like...forever. That`s why when I saw their newly released song 'Human Race' I decided to give it a go at the very minute. At the time of the release I craved for something as rocky as Three Days Grace. I wanted this music, I wanted this voice, I wanted this vibe...and on the very first few seconds of the song I realized that was exactly what I needed. Then the album came out and it was all one pure pleasure. It has such a strong vibe to it and the music is SO GOOD, and lyrics...ohmygod! It just made me feel so badass, and strong, and vicious (in a good way :D). I`m sure this album will be perfect if you wanna kind of wake your inner beast (again - in a good way)...or in fact, it can make you very depressed as well, as I`m thinking about it now, because lyrics sometimes are just...DEEP. Anyway it`s somewhere inbetween good and bad, and I absolutely love this balance!

'Mornign Phase' by Beck.

Beck is mostly known to people for his song 'Loser', I guess. At least to people I know. A few months ago a person whose opinion I value a lot was talking about Beck`s latest album, and I made a mental note to listen to it later. Now, the album was out back in 2014, and after that there already is a new song called 'Dreams' which I listened first and it. is. AMAAAAZING. It`s kind of summery, and very light, and carefree. It made me wanna go on the road trip, to be honest. And it didn`t end there. Listening to the album made me teary-eyed because I remembered all the great road-trips with my family when I was younger. It made me very nostalgic and, in fact, a bit of an emotional wreck. That`s okay. And again the whole album is so light and sunny you literally can feel the sun pitching your cheeks, and the wind blowing in your hair, and the desire of exploring the unknown road ahead of you. Ugh...that`s just an amazing feeling. If you like road trips and long journeys you will definitely enjoy this album!

The Chemical Brothers have their new album out as well and there`s a song featuring Beck called 'Wide Open' which sounds incredible. I`m starting to think all Beck`s tracks, even the ones he`s only featured on, are meant to be a road trip soundtrack. And I lllloooove it!

Let me know if you`ve heard any of these albums and if you liked them or not. And also maybe there are some albums that have surprised you recently? I`d love to know! x
