'Drag Me Down' by One Direction.

Now, this is a very exciting post for me. I`ve been loving One Direction for over three years now and let me just say this whole time was an emotional rollercoaster. These guys never fail to make me smile, laugh, frown, cry, and feel a lot of other emotions and this I`m thankful for. I can say that at this point in our relationship I can criticise them (in a good and sometimes in a bad way) a lot. And I do. I don`t experience blind love and affection for them (or anyone for that matter). Although I do love them very much. I can have my opinion separated from what my heart tells me, and this is very cool. And you wanna know what else is cool? The fact that these boys have not failed me once, while releasing their music. Not once in three years did I say 'it was good', when it was bad. Simply because it`s never been bad. They always work very hard. And you can hear it and experience it fully. You can see them growing and, more importantly, you can HEAR them growing. They are pop artists yes, but they also are not afraid to experiment with their sound. And while all their songs and albums are still being labeled as 'pop' they don`t all sound the same.

As a lot of people have been saying throughout the day Drag Me Down is the beginning of  a new era for One Direction. This is a first song (and upcoming album) without Zayn. But not only that. They`re yet again trying out new sounds. And what I`ve heard so far is BLOODY AMAZING. It`s been over 12 hours since the release and, honestly, I haven`t seen any negative comments on the song. And more to it, I`ve seen a lot of people saying 'I`m not even a 1D fan and I love the song'. This is how success looks and feels like. This band is not nearly done. And after this song I`m pretty sure they`re gonna stick on the top for a long time. Especially with a fanbase like us ;)

Despite the fact that Zayn is not in the band anymore they sound exactly the same. Like good old One Direction, I mean. I, like many others, was mostly afraid that without Zayn they will lose that sound of theirs, that made them One Direction. But the sound is still there, and it makes me so very happy! This is new One Direction, but it`s still One Direction.

The song sounds so much more mature. I mean FOUR sounded mature enough and it was only released about eight months ago. And here we are, eight months later, and they already sound so much better (which sounds incredibly surreal because I thought FOUR was the best thing ever). Their solos are amazing, and I can`t describe how happy I am that all four of them got a big chunk of the song. Liam and Louis both have such amazing voices. I was very happy to hear them. But what really surprised me was this: firstly, Niall. In every new release I hear his voice as if for the first time, and it makes me so emotional because it always brings me back to the image of Katy Perry saying 'Don`t let me down!'. And I just listen to him, and look at him, and see a guy who`s so happy to live this life, and who`s also such a talented, genuine, nice guy. Niall just makes me feel things, you know. I don`t even know how to describe it. And secondly, Harry. HARRY AND HIS HIGH NOTES. I wasn`t expecting that AT ALL. I`ve always been a Harry girl, and I love his voice very very much. But between him and Liam I`d say Liam was more of a high note guy. Yet here we are listening to Harry nailing those notes, and I swear to God when I first heard him doing his thing I died a little because, again, I wasn`t expecting this coming. He did such a great job, and I`m so so so proud of him. And all of them. Obviously I miss Zayn and I`d rather he was still in the band, but I don`t see the point of whining about it over and over again. What`s done is done, and I`m also very happy for him and what`s coming for his solo career.
Music in the song literally reminded me of Fall Out Boys. I know I know, a lot of FOB fans will drag me down (:D) for this but I don`t care, because they do sound as badass as FOB. It also reminded me of 5SOS` 'Tomorrow Never Dies', it kinda have similar vibes to it, I don`t know. Also, want to point out the bass drop and the beat in the chorus. This gives me LIFE.
And last but not least, lyrics. They`re SO GREAT. There are not that many words but they`re so accurate, and inspiring, and meaningful. At least they were for me. In old times One Direction could sing a song that was overall good but once you really dig deeper into lyrics you will cringe or be like 'wh..what even is this?'. Not gonna lie, there are few of those songs. And this one, as simple as it is, sounds just GREAT. And I`m so proud of that, It has a meaning, it brings something into this world, it makes you relate to it or wanna relate to it, it makes you feel strong and appreciate those who are by your side through everything, good and bad. I love it.

I loved the song. I`ve been listening to it all day and I`m still not sick of it even for a bit. I love their new era, I love that they still can slay the whole world and I love seeing all fans` support from all over the world. This just shows everybody how amazing and meaningful this band is, and also how talented they are, and what a great potential they still have. I only wish them all the best in the world, them and Zayn as well. He will always be a part of this band anyhow. And I`m so freaking excited for the album...God only knows. Let`s slay again. Long live One Direction!

Let me know what did you think of the new single! ;)x
